Mixing new and old for a unique and timeless style

The way we organize the spaces we live in, the colours, materials and fabrics we choose and the objects we surround ourselves with, make a difference in our lives.

It is with the strong conviction that design can increase our well-being that I decided to study interior design at KLC School of Design in London and University of Brighton School of Architecture and Design. Being Swedish and having a real interest in Scandinavian design, I have also studied Swedish design history in Stockholm as well as in-depth colour theory at the University of Boras in Sweden.

What I like about Scandinavian design is its simplicity and the use of natural, tactile materials that age with grace. This coexists perfectly with another aspect of designing interiors that I love: mixing new design with antiques, vintage and second-hand items. To me, there needs to be a bit of history in order for a space to feel inviting, interesting and soulful.

Any design project you may have is, however, based around you as a client and your taste and preferences. Sometimes, this includes exploring what design it is you really like and what will work for you in your life.

My work as an interior designer is to help you create something coherent and unique, uniting functional needs and aesthetic considerations. Because I am independent, I am free to recommend items from whatever manufacturer I wish to whatever budget you have in mind. And I will always make sure to suggest at least a few treasures from the past.

About Amanda

I would love to discuss how I can help you increase wellbeing in your home

Amanda Rydberg has been a pleasure to work with as her communication skills are excellent. She is very punctual and proactive, having very innovative ideas. She always provided us with several options giving her professional advice on the practicality of certain solutions and she had a talent to view a design issue from many angles making her advisory approach very holistic. She is a bright and personable individual and quite frankly, we had such fun while working with her. And the outcome of her work is truly wonderful
