Exceptional coffee table/side table made in Sweden from the 1940s. Made entirely from solid oak wood, the table stands on one leg supported by three feet. The construction is simple, but the sophisticated details on this table gives it a unique and refined appearance: the beveled pattern on the leg, the carved out details of the feet, the scalloped shape of the table top.
The entire design is a nice example of the style called Swedish Modern, the form of modernism that was established in the 1930s with the desire to improve, beautify and simplify life. Manufactured by Inrednings-Kompaniet AB in Malmö. The provenance of the table is a private residence in Vellinge, Sweden.
It is in a great vintage condition with a beautiful patina. There is one water mark on the table top (see picture).
